The showers which have fallfu have diminished the dnngrr. from the forest fires in Canada, which are now confined to three counties bordering St. Lawrence. Many women heroically aided in fighting (he flainf s. Seveial towrs were completely isolated for days owing to suspension of traffic on the railways, and the destruction of the telegraph lines.
