The Federal Treasurer's report dealing with a proposal to distribute sugXnuses amongst the various State, on a population basis, shows that in New South Wales last yea r there was I produced 18,000 tons, while -i,UUO tons . of black-grown sugar was noduced. J In Queensland 66,000 tons of black, and 12,000 of white-grown were produced. The sugar duties collected to April 30th last totalled over £224,000, out of which rebates were granted to New South Wales and Queensland growers amounting to £61,000, leaving I trust fund of £163,000 to be divided amongst the States.
