' , From Hawera County Council, stating that- tbo money for North and London streets, and for Weet, Parkland Colling-, wood streets is now available, and that the Council. bold advances of £2^o. and ; J6IOO respectively. From MiHer, Wilson, and Co., Weilingten, in reply to letter from Council on , the question of eleotrio lighting, agreeing ■" to conditions under which specifications were desired to be prepared, and stating that specifications , would be at once started. valuation of the borough made within thi next twelve months. POLICE WANTED. Cr McGarry referred to the matter o pilfering of fowls and firewood which pre vailed, in the borough. In one case t settler's fowls were all taken, the headi being cut off and left behind. The Mayor considered extra poliot assist auoe was required, the pie*eh officer having .too much to do. Hi moved that the Justice Department bi written to on the matter. Seconded by Or McGarry, and carried The Council adjourned.
