SERIOUS CHARGE.
Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, December 13. At the Police Court this morning; a young man named Walter Smith was charged with setting fire to a tent, the propesty of George Inge, at Moturoa, and with inflicting bodily harm on Inge. A week's remand was granted. It appeared that Inge was sleeping in his tent, which somehow caught fire, burning him severely, and he is now in the Hospital in a serious condition.
