♦ ■ WANGANUI v. TABANAKI. The match between tho Wanganui and Taranaki representatives was played this afternoon, in the Recreation Ground. The only alteration in the Taranaki team was the inclusion of Pihama in tho forwards consequent on the defection of Thomas (Stratford). The weather was cold, with a strong breeze blowing. Considerable interest was manifested in the game, there being many visitors from North and South. Mr J. H. Laugbton, of Wellington, aoted as referee. FIRST SPELL. Taranaki 8 Wanganui 0 The final score was,— Taranaki 24 Wanganui 0 Our detailed report will appear to* morrow. It ia understood that 18 men will be picked for the northern tour of the Taranaki team.
