WAITARA RACING CLUB.

At tbe annual general meeting of members of the above Club, the balance . sheet, read by the Secretary, showed the receipts for tbe year amount to £700 19s, principal items being:— Nominatioes and acceptances, L 139 ss ; Rates, £166 2s ; totalisator receipts, £350 17a. The expenditure totalled JE73B 17s lid, the principal amounts under such head being : Stakes, £315 ; Government tax, £56 19s sd. Trustees (instalment on account of purchase of course) £250. The credit balance was shown as £40 16s 7d. Officers were elected. A letter was read from Mr B. G. Pardy asking to be appointed handi- 1 capper of the Club. It was resolved to j reply informing him that the Club had an existing arrangement with Mr Henrys. ■ It was suggested that the Programme .Committee should frame the events in rsuch a way as to avoid handicapping on the ground. It was pointed out that the adjustment of tbe last race, in previous years, was necessarily in the hands of local men, and there were other reasons why it would be better to have the weights of all the races made out at the one time. The matter qI . improving tbe stand was discussed, and it was suggested an expert should accompany members of the Committee to the ground and draw up a plan whereby existing inconveniences could be remedied.
