1 (PER PRKSS ASSOCIATION.) Gisbornb, February 27. A man named George Wild is missing. On Sunday his boat capsized in the surf, and last evening he went to re-launch it, but the man and boat have not since been seen. Napier, February 27. A drowning fatality occurred here this afternoon. A lad named Crowther, aged seven, son of Mr S. Crowther, coach proprietor, who was bathing in the surf, was carried out to sea. When the little fellow was finally brought ashore by Constable Oliphant, life was extinct. Yesterday, owing to a heavy ground swell, there was a narrow escape fronc drowning near the tents. Napier, February 28. At an inquest op the boy Crowther, c verdict of accidental death was re turned. The jury praised ConstabU Oliphant'B gallant attempt at rescue and urged that more buoys be placec along the beach.
