MDLLE. ANTONIA DOLORES.

In another column we publish the programme to be given at Mdlle. Dolores' concert to-morrow evening. The visit of this talented lady marks an epoch in local musical history. The programme includes twelve songs by Mademoiselle, tastefully selected from several centuries and many nations, English being necessarily predominant. Song recitals of this nature, given by a thoroughly competent artiste like our coming visitor, are, from many aspects, almost an ideal entertainment. Their educational value is considerable, and they afford genuine pleasure to those who attend. A Brisbane paper says: — "Made- ! moiselle had now sung a great number of songs, but still the audience had the ' front ' to ask for encores ; and,, more amazing still, they got them. With a ready acquiescence utterly untinged with selfconsciousaess or affectation, the singer responded to every recall, and sang time and again with the wonderful voice that never got tired. Finally, the star, to her own accompaniment, sang ' Home, Sweet Home,' and it was the most touching rendition of that pathetic little song ever heard in Brisbane^' Mr Newell's piano solos are by no means make-weights. He is a player of sterling merit.
