The Stratford correspondent of the Taranaki Herald says :— Strenuous efforts are being made both by Mr Byrnes, M.t1.8., and the County Council to induce the Government to give practioal and immediate effect to the Noxious Weeds Act by the appointment of special inspectors. He considers the sending up of an assistant to Mr Deem, the Stock Inspector, should suffice for the present, and promises to do more later. Bagwort is now in flower, and now is the time to deal with it. A month hence a thousand inspectors cannot overtake the mischief. The County Chairman is going to Wellington on Monday to urge immediate action on the Minister. Mr Alex. Faterson has been appointed looal agent of the Northern Assurance Co. Watch found. Mr Harry M.
