(PBR PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, February 25. At the Auckland Police Court, Win. Fleming was remanded to Greymouth on a charge of embezzling, in January last, £31 18s sd, the property of the Blackball Oddfellows' Lodge, of which he was treasurer. Wellington, February 25. Tho estimates of the Wellington Charitable Aid Board for the current year amounted to £8399, of which £3912 will be levied from local bodies for tho conduct of the Wellington Hospital. The trustees require £12,600. The Wellington City Council has appointed four additional inspectors to assist in the work of cleaning up the city. Where opposition is shown by householders to the advice of theee officers, action will be taken by the Council.
Hokviika, February 25. Captain Thomson, harbormaster at Okarito for many years, died this morning, after a long and painfulillness.
Dunedin, Febiuary 25. J. C. Smith, of Ettrick, an old goldfields pioneer, who was thrown outf of a cart a fortnight ago, died last night from his injuries. Seventy-one ministerial and lay delegates to the Methodist Conference, which meets to-morrow, arrived by train from the north to-night. Tho presidential address will be delivered tomorrow evening.
