FIJI. PUBLIC MEETING IN AUCKLAND.

Auckland, February 26. Mr Humphrey Berkeley addressed a public meeting in support of the Fijian petition to the King for the federation of Fiji and New Zealand. A resolution was carried to the effect that the citizens of Auckland protest against the treatment to which the Fijians are subjected, and, further, declare it would be in the best interests of the people of Fiji and New Zealand if both countries were under a representative system of Government.
