SUPREME COURT.
• . (PBR PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Christchdech, February 21. At the Supreme Court, when two Maori boys under 14, who had pleaded guilty to indecent assault, came up for sentence, Mr Justice Denniston expressed doubt as to whether ho could deal with them, as minors under 14 could only be sentenced after a jury had agreed that they were cognisant that they wero doing a wrong act* He would allow matters to stand over until he had consulted other judges of the Court of Appeal, and discharged thorn on recognisances to come up for sentence if called upon. He said that if he was satisfied that the boys would receive corporal punishment at the hands o^ their parents, probably nothing more would be beard of the matter. ———■———■■—»
