Auckland, February 20. The City Council passed a resolution favoring a preferential tariff in favor of British goods.
A supplementary water supply was turned on into the Western Springs waterworks, Auckland, on Thursday. It is expected to supply an additional 1,200,000 gallons per day. The gold returns for Auckland district for the past three weeks total j£58,380, an encouraging increase on the corresponding period of 1901.
Napier, February 20. A public meeting cordially approved and decided to assist in making the national presentation to Mr Seddon.
Dunedin, February 20. Father Henderson died at the Holy Cross College, Dunedin, on Thursday, aged 27. He was ordained two years ago at Dublin. He was one of the professional staff of the College.
