At Inveroargill the 3.M. dismissed a charge of perjury against Sergeant Bowder, laid by the licensee of the Criterion Hotel, who was convicted of refusing to admit the police without unnecessary delay. He remarked on the unsatisfactory nature of the evidence of three witnesses for the prosecution, and said that no case had been made out.
