English companies and firms inter ested in Westralia, representing a capita of three millions, have requested M: Lefroy, Westralian Agent-General, ti present a petition to the Commonwealtl Parliament stating that the Federa tariff threatens to disastrously affec industrial development, especially ii Westralia, and to inflict grave in jus tic en British investors. The petition ask for a reconsideration of the matter; als< that import duties be mad applicable in contracts and engagement prior to the operative date of the tariff.
