ELTHAM.
(from our resident agent.) For the second time in succession, the meeting of the Eltham branoh of the New Zealand Farmers' Union has lapsed for want of a quorum. Onlj three members turned up last night, although the business was advertised to be "important." A little more activity will be required if the branch is to be of service to farmers. Mr O. Pottß is the successful tenderer for the erection of new premises in Bridge street for the Bank of New Zealand. Mr F. Harrison, for many years caretaker of the Egmont racecourse, has taken up land from Mr B. Dive, on the Mangawhero road, and will take up his residence there in a couple of months' time. February 18.
