Horses are in steady demand. Heavy draughts made from L 26 10s to L 37 2s 6d : medium, Ll9 2s|6d to L 25 7s 6d ; light harness horses, L 4 15s to Ll7 2a 6d ; hacks, L 4 12s 6d to L 5 10s.
Cattle : At Newmarket yards fat stock met with a ready sale at improved rates. Ox beef sold at 21s to 24s per lOOIbs ;|cows, 17s to 19s ; fat steers made from L62s6d to LlO ; fat cows, L 3 Ids to L 7 10s. Sheep in average numbers were yarded. Fat wethers sold from 8s 6d to 14s 9d; fat ewes, 6s 6d to 13s ; store ewes, 2s 8d to 6s 9d ; lambs, heavy weights, 7s 6d to 12s 9d ; lighter sorts, 3s 6d to 7s.
