HISTORIC SHAM BATTLE. • The 125 th anniversary of the battle of Trenton was celebrated at Trenton, New Jersey, on December 36th by a great sbain battle. The famous battle was fought during the revolutionary war, when American troops under Washington completely routed the British. Troops from New Jersey towns and from Philadelphia and other cities took part in the mimic combat. Half of them represented Americans and tho olher balf British. They took up the exact positions occupied by the opposing forces 125 years ago. General Cooper represented Washington, and had the same number of officers ou his staff. Tho troops representing the British observed historical accuracy by flying panic-stricken from the field, pursued by the victorious Americans. The Britons were compelled to ground arms, give up their flags, and surrender ignominiously.
