NOLAN, TONKS, AND CO.'S SHEEP FAIR.

There was a fair attendance at Messrs Nolan, Tonks, and Co.'s annual sheep fair, held in the Hawera yards to-day. The entries were numerous and good, and the possible buyers were many, although there was a noticeable disinclination to operate freely at anything like high prices. As a matter of fact, the prices for fats were fully 4s lower than thoße ruling last year, while there was a general all round decline of from 4s to sb. The highest price realised up to the time of going to press was 10s 6d for 200 fine four-tooths belonging to Mr J ' Winks, Mr Marsland's being the purohaser. For 350 the remainder of the same entry, 10s 3d was bid, but they were passed in. A line of two tooths brought 83 9d, a lower price for the quality. Some ewes from ■Tdusis GoJj/jaatised. 6s 3d.
