Valentine Eieeanowßki, an old man, a German Pole, indicted for setting fire to his house at Marshlands on December 25tb, was acquitted.
Napier, February 11.
At the Supreme Court, William Wood, for indecently assaulting his step-daughter, was sentenced to five years.
Wellington, February 11. At the Supreme Court, Robert Collier stood his trial for a second time on a charge of wilfully injuring a cow by throwing a chemical upon it. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty, and accused was discharged.
