THE proposal is to abandon the construction of a 15-inch drain in High-street (Borough of Hawera), from Victoria-street to Cameronstreet (south end of High-street), about 40 chains, and to drain streets leading into the same at an expense of £817, being one of the proposals adopted at a poll of Burgesses held on the 25th day of July, 1901. And in lieu thereof it is proposed : 1. To construct surface channelling in High-street for the surface drainage of the same, and the surface drainage cf streets leading into High-street; as recommended and specified in the plans and specifications of Messrs Climie and Fairhall, and approved of by the Hawera Borough Council at a special meeting held on the 20tb day of December, 1901. 2. The sum proposed to be borrowed for such purpose is £817. 8. The proposed seourity for, and and provision for re-payment of the Loan is : — A Speoial Bate of ld (one penny) in the £ ovar all the rateable property within the Borough of Hawera. RESULT OF POLL.
