At the Chambers of Commerce Conferenoe, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr JohnDuthie (Wellington), " That the subjeot of the unsatisfactory condition of the Australian bill of lading be brought under the attention of the Government with a view of inducing Parliament to adopt legislation on the lines of the American law." On the motion of Mr C. Ellison (Napier), it was resolved, "That the various Chambers of Commerce throughout New Zealand be requested to further the interests of the London Chamber by reporting with detailed particulars all cases of pillaging of goods from over-sea coming under their notice." ,»-,,. j Mr S.
