BOW LING.

On Hawera green on Saturday Ogilvie and K. Hicks (challengers), beat Haughay and J. Synie (holders) for the Davidson feathers, by 24 to 17. On Monday Parrington beat Nicholas by 24 to 9 in the champion tourney, and also put down Davidson by a similar margin. McNiven beat Scolon by 25 to 10. A meeting of the committee of the club was held on Monday evening. Arrangements were made for the match with Manaia on Friday. A proposal to invite Stratford club to play on Hawera green was agreed to, but there was some difficulty about fixing the date for Stratford half-holi-day, as the next three Thursdays are engaged, and eventually it was agreed to ask if it would be convenient for them to come on Friday next, when Manaia team would be in Hawera. If not then, some day next month would be settled on. The question of a tour by Hawera team, to play Palmerston on the 25th, Feilding 26th, Wanganui 27tb, and possibly Waverley or Patea on 28th was discussed. It was stated that many members were anxious to go, and that probably a fairly strong team could be got away. The Secretary was requested to write to the various clubs on the subject. Time for completing first round of Championship Singles was extended till I end of current week.
