GAOL WARDER'S WIFE ELOPES WITH A PRISONER.
New Yobk, February 2. Mrs Sofiel, wife of a warder in the Pittsburg gaol, chloroformed her husband, armed two brothers named Edward and John Biddell, imprisoned for murder, and enabled tbem to escape in a sleigh; herself eloping with Edward. The sheriff overtook and shot" the brothers* , who. refused to surrender. Mrs Sofiel attempted suicide.
