AUCKLAND PRODUCE REPORT.

Auckland, January 30. The glut in potatoes has to some extent been removed by the export orders for the Islands, and the Government are also drawing on the market for considerable quantities required for th 9 troopships Cornwall and Surrey. Prime kidneys are now worth 3a to 3s 6d, less money being accepted for inferior or unripe samples. A large quantity of oats came by the Hawea, practically all being sold to arrive, and as the market was extremely bare these have gone into immediate consumption. The new crop is now offering from Canterbury, for which delivery is not guaranteed till about the middle oi February. The market opens strong, very little advantage appearing as against old grain, when orobable shrinkage is taken into account. Beports differ as to the Canterbury crop, but all are agreed that stock* of old grain, both there and in Otago, are extremely light.

There is a strong inquiry for onions, and the market is almost bare. Supplies have been cut off from Sydney by the sharp advance in price there. This has firmed the local prices, and Southern stocks are now being drawn upon.

Heavy Bales of canned meats are reported. Hams and bacon are now offering more freely.
