Wellington, January 30. A young half-caste woman who has been sentenced to twelve short terms of imprisonment for false pretences was sent to gaol for six months on two similar charges. To one of her dupes she had represented herself as the daughter of an Australian Premier. Mr T. Hamer, private secretary to the Premier, was presented with a purse of sovereigns and an address by members of the Ministry and civil servants at Wellington, on the eve of his departure on a trip to England.
