The following information is published for the guidance and information of intending applicant for the 9th N.Z. Contingent :—: — 1. Geneial. — Two battalions will ba formed consisting of Five Hundred (500) men each, one frorajjjNorth Island aud one from South Island. 2. Applications — Officers— Freeh applications to be submitted through officer commanding district at as early a data as possible. Non-oommis«oned Officej s and Men — Applications by letter to be made to •' The Recruiting Offijer, 9th Contingent," at the nearest of the following recruiting csntres: — Wellington, Hawera, Wanganui, Napier, Gisborne, Palmersfcon ftorth, New Plymouth, Masterton, and Dannevirks. Applicant should state height, chest measurement, and weight, and also previous military service ; the physical standard is fixed at between the heights of sft sin and sft lOin ; chest (expanded), 35in ; weight not to exceed twelve (12) stone. Only good riders and good shots will be accepted. After the Officer Commanding District has appointed the Recruiting Boards — which will not assemble before 3rd February — (two (2) volunteer officers and a medical officer) a date will be fixed, and provisionally accepted applicants will be notified by Recruiting Officer to present themselves to him for medioal examination and riding test.
