KAPONGA.

(from our own correspondent.)

Seldom, if ever, has our township | been visited by such talent as that

f represented by the Boston Concert Company, who performed here on Saturday evening, and were received by a crowded house and an appreciative audience. The takings totalled close on £10 over guarantee, constituting a record for Kaponga. The artists, Mesdames Walther and Vartha, and Messrs Walther and Newton, rendered their various parts in a manner that left nothing to be desired. Madame Walther's singing of " When the Heart is Young," and " The Children's Home," with violin obligato, was evidence in itself of the fine quality and fulness of tone of the voice possessed by this lady. Miss B. Vartha is a most accomplished pianist. I have listened to several talented violinists in England, America, and on the Continent, bat never have I heard the instrument " speak" (if I may use the term) as it does in Bernbard Walther's hands. Mr C. B. Newton, in his various characters, was received with enthusiasm, and provoked roars of laughter. Should this company decide to pay us a return visit, it will, judging by Saturday evening, be necessary to greatly enlarge the hall. The piano, so kindly lent by Mrs C. Walker, was pronounoed by Miss Vartha to be one of the best she had ever played upon.

[Wo have already published full reports of the company's performances, and therefore only give extracts from the flattering opinions formed by our correspondent.]
