AN INTERESTING CASE.

(per press association.) Wellington, January 24. In the Supreme Court a convictionrecorded by R. F. Webster and John Caulasa, J'sP., against Charles Reid was quashed. His Honour, Mr Justice Conolly said this was a ease where the information ought to have been given to the accused that he had the right to be tried by a jury, but it is quite probable that neither of the Justices or the man himself were aware of the fact. That, however, had nothing to do with the matter. The conviction was quashed.
