VOLUNTEER CAMP.

Last evening, the Hawera Bifle Volunteers paraded at 7 o'clock, after which they went into camp for a week's training. The camp is situated in the Recreation Ground, the place being suitable in every way. The tents are well sheltered by the pines, while water is laid on. The commissariat department has received attention, and it is thought the arrangements will prove satisfactory.

The men will put in early and late drills, and during the day follow their usual avocations.

The officers in charge are Captain Major and Lieutenants Paterson and Payne.

The camp should have commenced on Friday, but the weather necessitated a postponement. Things look bright now, and if the weather continues fine there should be a large number of visitors to the camp to-morrow.
