METHUEN CAPTURES A LAAGER.

Colonel Colenbrander captured seven of Steenkamp's men at Magliesberg, and unearthed 20 barrels of gunpowder and 200 rounds of shrapnell. The Middle Temple has struck Dr Krause off the list of the Bar. Received January 24, 1.8 a.m.
London, January 23.
Lord Kitchener reports that Lieut.General Methuen, in a running fight of eight miles, captured a laager with 23 Boers and many cattle at Boschpoort.
Major- General Bruce Hamilton in a night march against Botha captured 27. The Witbank blockhouses, constituting a parallelogram 140 miles by 60, and enclosing De Wet's forces, are almost completed.
