(Before Mr H. Eyre Kenny, S.M.) JUDGMENT FOR PLAINTIFF. N.Z. Express Co. (Mr Halliwell) v. W. Brown ; claim JSI 17s Id, and costs ss. Patterson (Mr Foy) v. H. J. Read ; claim £4 10s, and costs 11s. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. McMaster v. Tonga. Mr Halliwell for judgment creditor. Order for immediate payment ; in default, seven clays' imprisonment. ASSAULT. Walter Townsend was charged with assaulting John Walden at Ketemarae, on 12th January. Complainant said defendant and himself had a dispute over a copper boiler, and eventually, after using bad language, Townsend struck him. Complainant's wife and W. Taylor gave evidence, and tho Court fined defendant £1 and costs (including interpreter's fee). THREATENING LANGUAGE. Townsend was further charged with using threatening language towards Walden. The case was dismissed, His Worship thinking the fine_in the previous case would be a sufficient lesson.
