Representatives of the meat export trade consider the admission of the Argentine into contracts for meat for the army in South Africa will have a bad effect on Australia. One. says it will moan that very little Australian will eventually be used, because the quality of tbe Argentine is higher, and it can be supplied at less cost. Another says tbe worst outcome will be the establishing of a regular line of steamers between South America and South Africa, whioh, apart from the meat trade, would be impossible.
