Wellington, January 23. Heavy rain fell this morning, accompanied by a fierce noitberly gale. By 10 o'clock the rain ceased, but it is still threatening. The stewards of the Racing Club met and decided i ) go on with the meeting. A galw is still blowing.
A light drizzling ram is falling at intervals. The course is in good condition. The nor'-wester still continues.
January Handicap — Goldenmere (Pine) 1, Fashion 2, Indian Shot 3. Also started: Redoubt. Won rather easily by half length. Time, 2.13. Div., £1 19s 6d.
Electric — Torowai (Neale) 1, Te Taiaha 2, Float 3. Also started : Gold Spur, Ringlet, Rebel, Shrapnell Shell, Ayrdale. Won by half a length. Time, , I.B*. ~ I
