NINTH CONTINGENT.

Wellington, January 22. The Premier hopes to send the North Island battalion of the Eighth Contingent away next Wednesday. It is most likely that conditions of enlistment will be revised in respect of tbe Ninth Contingent, so as to give a chance to men who, while otherwise desirable, failed to come quite up to the minimum height. It is intended to get this Contingent embarked by the end of February.
