Eltham Argus. We beg to acknowledge receipt of a copy of the Star almanac for 1902. It is in every respect -well up to the standard of previous numbers, being replete with information of much interest to Taranaki settlers. Napier Telegraph. A copy of the West Coast Star almanac and directory is to hand from the publishers, Hawera. It bears evidence oi careful compilation, and embraces in its contents a variety of subjects likely to prove of interest and value. Manawatu Times. We are indebted to the publishers for a copy of the Star Almanac, a very useful publication to all business men on ihis coast, as it contains such an immense amount of varied information, commercial statistical, and political, required in every day life, that no one should be without it. A copy is to hand of the Hawera Stai Almanac for 1902, which is well up tc the usual standard, and contains a largi amount of information of special value tc the farmers, and to business men am others. The Star Almanac is recogmsec as the best of the kind issued in the colony H.B. Herald. We have received from the Hawera anc Normanby Star a copy of their almanai for 1902. This is a very complete ani handy work of reference for that district and the directory, which takes in the town; from Palmerston North to New Plymouth is a most extensive one. The book is om of the best of its kind we have seen. Chrisichurch Press. We have to acknowledge a copy of thi Star Almanac ani West Coast Director; for 1902, published at the office of thi Hawera Star. The volume is admirabl for reference purposes, and the director; is very complete, including as it doei Palmerston, Feilding, Marton, Wanganui Hawera, New Plymouth, and all inter mediate centres. Th compilation has been made more complet as the years have gone by, until to-day th book seems to have within its pages all th information one could possibly expect t find therein. We have received from the publisher < copy of Parkinson's Stab Almanack an West Coast Directory, issued at the Stai Office, Hawera. This publication with in its pages embraces a complet directory of the West Coast of th North Island, from Palmerston North t Mokau inclusive, as well as a large amoun of useful information, evidently compile with much care, and admirably presents n clear intelligible form. The work is on of the best of its kind produced in th Colony, and does credit to the establish rnent from which it is issued. News, New Plymouth. Christmas is with us once again ani with it that ever welcome and indispens able publication, the Star Almanac. Thi book, which is in its nineteenth year o publication, continues to increase in use fulness. Each year the painstaking com piler adds some new feature, increasing it value to the farmer, the merchant, thi shopkeeper, and the professional man. I contains a complete list of all centre, of population on the west coast o the North Island, and, considering thi shifting nature of all colonial popula tions, a wonderfu'ly correct directory. I also contains a mass of statistical infor mation, a very useful garden calendar tables of great value to farmers, informa tion regarding stamp duties, and a brie: synopsis of a number of statutes bearing on everyday life. In bulk it has increased from 368 to 448 pages since last year : but owing to careful editing and compilation, and the admirable arrangement ol the matter it contains, its usefulness v doubled. It is published from the Hawera Star Office, and Bold at the low price of Is 3d, but can be obtained from all booksellers. It should find a place in every home and business place in Taranaki. i Manawatu Standard. i One of the most useful publications issued in the colony is undoubtedly the I Star Almanao and West Coast Directory. A copy for 1902 has just come to band from the enterprising publisher, Mr W. A. Parkinson, of Hawera, and it is quite equal in point of completeness to any of its predecessors. The work is neatly printed, admirably compiled, and altogether reflects the greatest credit on the office from which it emanated. Wairarapa Times. We have received a copy of the Hawbba Star Almanao and West Coast Directory for 1902, which is a most serviceable compilation of useful information. The directory of the northern towns is very i complete, and appears to be accurate in I detail. There are valuable hints on { gardening and farming, while such legislation as is likely to affect the general pubho in any special way is given in an , intelligible form, and inoludea fishing and I shooting regulations, registering births and | deaths, etc., etc. Altogether, the volume is a most complete vade mecuvi for the country settlers, and is a credit to its compilers and publishers.
