THE WRECK OF THE ALEXANDRA.

Wbstpoet, January 20. The Alexandra struck at 3 o'clock on Saturday morning while under full sail. • The captain was on deck at the time. Having no knowledge of their whereabouts, the crew remained aboard till daylight, when they succeeded in reaohing shore with the aid of an old miner named Owen Bees.

The vessel now lies high and dry. Had the accident happened further south it is certain none of thoße on board would have been saved.
