We beg to acknowledge receipt of a copy of the Stab almanac for 1902. It is in every respect well up to the standard of previous numbers, being replete with information of much interest to Taranaki settlers. Napier Telegraph. A copy of the West Coast Star almanao and directory is to hand from the publishers, Hawera.' It bears evidence of careful compilation, and embraces in its contents a variety of subjects likely to prove of interest and value. Manawatu Times. We are indebted to the publishers for a copy of the Stab Almanac, a very useful publication to all business men on this coast, as it contains such an immense amount of varied information, commercial, statistical, and political, required in everyday life, that no one should be without it. Bangitikei Advocate. A copy is to hand of the Hawera Stab Almanac for 1902, which is well up to the usual standard, and contains a large amount of information of special value to the farmers, and to business men and others. The Stab Almanac is recognised a3 the best of the kind issued in the colony. H.B. Herald. We have received from the Hawera and Normanby Stab a copy of their almanac for 1902. This is a very complete and handy work of reference for that district, and the directory, which takes in the towns from Palmerston North to New Plymouth, is a most extensive one. The book is one of the best of its kind we have seec Christchurch Press. We have to acknowledge a copy of the Stab Almanac and West Coast Directory for 1902, published at the office of the Hawera Stab. The volume is admirable for reference purposes, and the directory is very complete, including as it does Palmerston, Feilding, Marton, Wanganui, Hawera, New Plymouth, and all intermediate centres. Egmont Settler. We have again to acknowledge receipt of that valuable book " The Star Almanac." This publication is now becoming so closely connected with the business life of Taranaki that commercial and professional men cannot afford to do without it. The Almanac carries aa almost inexhaustible 1 supply of information, and should find a place on every bookshelf. > Waitara Mail. We have just received a Star Almanac . and West Coast Directory for 1902. The compilation has been made more complete as the years have gone by, until to-day the ' book seems to have within its pages all the , information one could possibly expect to ! find therein. Personally, we use the I Directory a good deal, and we can recom- ! mend it as a really useful publication. Ohinemuri Gazette. We have to ackonwledge the receipt of I the Parkinson Star Almanac and West , Coast Directory for 1902. This is the . nineteenth year of publication of this ' popular work, and it will be found a trusty- " worthy guide. The directory includes all 1 the towns and villages between Palmerston North and New Plymouth, and as a guide between those places it is indispensable. Taranaki Herald. That useful |publication, the Star AlI manack, is to hand from the publisher, and as usual is brimful of useful infor- | mation for which people are looking every day. The directory portion has ' apparently been carefully revised and brought up to-date. Tp business men as well as to country settlers the Star Almanac is almost indispensable. A particularly useful feature is the garden calendar. Nelson Colonist. We have received from the publisher a copy of Parkinson's Stab Almanack and West Coast Directory, issued at the Stab Office, Hawera. This publication within its pages embraces a complete directory of the West Coast of the North Island, from Palmerston North to Mokau inclusive, as well as a large amount of useful information, evidently compiled with much care, and admirably presented n clear intelligible form. The work is one of the best of its kind produced in the Colony, and does oredit to the establishment from which it is issued. News, New Plymouth. Christmas is with us once again, and with it that ever welcome and indispensable publication, ihe Stab Almanac. This book, which is in its nineteenth year of publication, continues to increase in usefulness. Each year the painstaking compiler adds some new feature, increasing its value to the farmer, the merchant, the shopkeeper, and the professional man. It contains a complete list of all centres of population on the west coast of the North island, and, considering the shifting nature of nil coJonial populations, a wonderfully correct directory. It also contains a mass of statistical information, a very useful garden calendar, tables of great value to farmers, information regarding stamp duties, and a brief synopsis of a number of statutes bearing on everyday life. In bulk it has increased from 368 to 448 pages since last year ; , but owing to careful editing and compilation, and the admirable arrangement of the matter it contains, its usefulness is doubled. It is published from the Hawera Stab Ollioe, and sold at the low price of Is 3d, but can be obtained from all booksellers. It should find a place in every home and business place in Taranaki. Manawatu Standard. One of the most usefnl publications issued in the colony is undoubtedly the Stab Almanac and West Coast Direotory. A oopy for 1902 has just come to hand from the enterprising publisher, Mr W. A. Parkinson, of Hawera, and it is quite equal in point of completeness to any of its predecessors. The work is neatly printed, admirably compiled, and altogether refleots the greatest oredit on the office from which it emanated. Wairarapa Times. We have received- a oopy of tho Haweba Stab Almanao and West Coast Direotory for 1902, which is a most serviceable compilation of useful information. The direotory of the northern towns is very complete, and appears to be aoourate in detail. There are valuable hints on gardening and farming, while suoh legis* lation as is likely to affeot the general publio in any special way is given in an ■ intelligible form, and includes fishing and ■shooting regulations, registering births and ' deaths, etc, eto.
