MAIL SERVICES.
Washington, January 19. The Senate's Commerce Committee favours a general subsidy of a 1,072,000 dollars, and a mail subsidy of 4,700,000 dollavs. It also recommends a fortnightly mail servioe with Samoa, New Zealand, and Australia, and lays stress on the early securing of a superior service for the Pacific passage.
