Auckland, January 19. By a fire at Whangarei, a house owned by Lippets, and occupied by James Hill, was totally destroyed. It is supposed to have originated through the chimney catching " fire and communicatiog with the wood-work of the mantlepiece. The building was insured in the New Zealand Company for i>lso. A large portion of the furniture, which was not insured, was saved.
