A foreigner named Coronna pleaded guilty at the Magistrate's Court to importing^certain packages of boots not corresponding with an entry made at the Customs. The goods came from Sydney, and were admittedly shoddy Btuff. They vsere valued by defendant at JEI4, and the Department valued them at £91.

Evidence was given by an importer, to whom defendant had sent the goods from Australia, sending with them an import price invoice to be submitted to the Customs, and following this up with a " selling price invoice " for acual account purposes. In one case quoted, the value of the rates set down in the first invoice at 3s 8d were put at 9s 3d in the other. The Magistrate imposed a fine of £40.
