THE MINERVA APPEAL.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
Wellington, October 7.
The judges appointed by the Racing Conference to deal with the case of Minerva 11, upheld the sentence of the Egmont Bacing Club as against the decision of the Taranaki Jockey Club. The judges think that where the circumstances are known to the stewards, the statutory declaration contrary to the fact should not be required or accepted. In their view, the mare should not have been allowed to start on the second day.
