Eeuter's correspondent states that a British force has occupied Chiniwantao and commenced the construction of a railway pier, with the view of making the harbour a winter port.
When approaching iShanhaikwan, the Russian troops, mistaking the French troops for Boxers, fired on them. The French replied. There were casualties on both Bides, including ten killed.
