AUCTION REPOBT.
Cattle— At Waiwakaiho, on Tuesday, I had full yards and a good sale. Bidding for all young cattle was keen, and neatly all of this olass sold at the hammer. 2 year steers and store cows also made excellent prices. Bidding for 18 months empty heifers in most cases did not come up to vendors' reserves, but they were all placed privately afterwards at satisfactory rates. Yearlings made L 2 Is toL2 9a ; 18 months to 2 year steers L3 lss to L 4 6s ; store cows L2Bsto L 3 10s ; springing heifers L 3 10s to L 4 17a 6d •, -working bullocks L 7 to Ll6 10b per pair ; fat cows L4 los to L 5. On Wednesday, at Stratford, I held a sale of dairy stock on account of Mr Jas. Linn. The cows were nearly all well-bred Jerseys, but were in rather poor condition, having been badly knocked about on their trip. Springing heifers made L 4 to L 6 15s ; cows in milk L6to L 8 15s, olose to calving, L 7 to L 9 ss.
