There was a good attendance at the Hawera yards on Thursday, and a large number of stock of a good class came forward. Bidding was, however, not so spirited as at recent sales, though nearly all the cattle were cleared at the hammer or after the sale.
Cattle: Yearlings, mixed, L 2 to L 2 4s; yearling steers, L 2 6s to L 2 10s ; 2 year steers, L 3 10s to L 3 15s; 2& to 3 year steers, Li 12s ; 3 year steers, L 5 ss ; forward steers, L 5 15s ; fat cows, L 4 5s to L 5; empty heifers, L 2 12s to L 2 18s ; forward cows, L 3 15s to hi ; store cows, L 3 7s 6d to L 3 10s ; springers, L 4 10s to L 5; cows and calves, L 4; extra goods, L 5 9s. Sheep: Hoggets (small), 9s 3d; orossbred wethers, lls 9d ; wethers, forward and good, 15 3s ; forward ewes, 10s 6d.
