In Banco to-day, before the Chief Justice, Messrs Bannatyne and Co., representing the Tyser Co., sought a ruling as'to their right to recover £800 paid by them as poll tax on three Chinese, belonging to the crew of the steamer Indralema, who ran away from that vessel while berthed at Queen's wharf, Wellington. Auckland, Octobers. At the Police Court to-day, Margaret Boyd was charged with causing Eileen Boyd, a song and dance artiste, aged nine years and two months, to perform in a place of public amusement.
