MILITARY TRAINING IN SCHOOLS.
* (PER -PItESS ASSOCIATION.) ' Cheistohurch, October 8. At the meeting of the Education Board to-day, the chairman stated that the teaching staff had responded to the call for military drill in a satisfactory manner, and that their appearance, physique and intelligence had been favourably commented . upon by Sergeant* Major Coleman. He thought it evident that the course of instruoticn teachers were undergoing would prove advantageous to children attending their schools, and that, so far at all events, they would be compensated for tho trouble drilling might occasion them.
