Hilda is well known to all as one of the greatest performers New Zealand has seen. Artillery, another good performer on the turf, was sold to go to Amerioa in 1895. St. Ctr, as a performer, has been unfortunate. As a 3-year-old' he struck himself on the off fore, leg, which disabled him | for the rest of the season; as a 4-year-old he started at the National Meeting in the Ladies' Bracelet, in a field of ten, which he won with ease, 10.9 up. At that stage he was one of the favorits for the N.Z. Cup, but he again unfortunately over-reached, which necessitated his being thrown out of work, thus only starting in public on one occasion.
