St. Clements is fall brother to St. Ursula, St. Peter, St. Olga, and St. Paul, who was looked upon by handicappers as the best horse out in the years 1897 and 1898. Castor, Daystar's sire, has the stoutest breeding, his pedigree containing no less than 12 English Derby winners, 6 St. Leger, 4 Oaks, and i 2000 Guineas winners. Castor wa3 a great racehorse and out of 26 starts he scored 17 wins, 4 seconds, 3 third 3, being only twice unplaced, the total value of stakes won being L 4316.
