IMPERIAL PARLIAMENT.
THE GENEEAL ELECTIONS. Per Pbess Association.— Bx Electric Telegraph— Copyright. Received October 3, 9.10 a.m. London, October 3. Members have been re-elected for the following cities and divisions :—Bossenditle Division of Lancashire, Southern Division of Mayo, South-western Division) of Carmarthen, Ludlaw, Kendal, Bipon, Kilkenny city, Clare East, Galway East. Mid-Cork, Westmeath South, Dublin North, Edinburgh and St. Andrew's Universities. The following have been elected unopposed : Newberry Division, Mr W. A: Mount, Tory ; Tullam'ore, Mr Burk ; Limerick East, Mr Lundon; Meath South, Mr Carew; Sligo South, Mr O'Dowd. All are Nationalists. At the poll the following Liberal Imperialists Jwere returned; Grantham, Mr Priestly; Gloucester City, Mr B. Bea; Swansea town, Sir Geoi Newnes; South Wolverhamp* ton, Mr H. Newman; Northampton, Dr Shipman (who defeated Messrs Onlebar and Randall, Tories), Mr H. Labouchere being second on the poll ; Hastings, Mr F. Thomas. . Totals : Conservatives, 154 ; Liberal Unionists, 24; Liberals. 35; Nationalists 20. The Conservatives have so far gained six seats, and the Liberals seven. All the latter are Imperialists. The Conservatives secured greatly increased majorities in London, Manchester, and Salford. At East Manchester, the Bight Hon. A. J. Balfour's majority was 2453. At North East Manchester, Sir J. Ferguson beat Birrell by 706. At North Manchester, Mr Sohwann's majority was 26. * At Leicester, Mr H. Broadhurst was re-elected first on the poll, Mr Rolleston being second. Members have been re-elected unopposed for Sunbury division, Suffolk, Ormskirk, Horsham, Bootle, Andover, Denley East, Brecknock, Workingham, Jarrow, Isle of Wight, and Wigtownshire.
